Phil Sanders, the owner of Carbide Grinding, brings decades of experience and dedication to his craft. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Phil served as an infantryman during the Vietnam War in 1968. After his military service, he honed his skills as a machinist and later gained expertise in carbide sales with Hertel/Adamas Carbide. Phil and his wife, Debra, eventually settled in Houston, where he joined Tool-Flo in a management role, reporting directly to the owner. Together, they raised their three daughters in Friendswood, a Houston suburb, laying the foundation of both a strong family and a thriving business. Carbide Grinding was founded in 1981 and has grown significantly since its inception. By 1988, the company had moved into its current location, complete with a newly constructed building. Expansion has been a steady process, with the acquisition of adjoining property in 1993 and the subsequent addition of storage and maintenance facilities. Today, over 20,000 square feet of space stands under the Carbide Grinding roof, reflecting years of progress and commitment to serving the machining industry.
